My Redbox Movie Maiden Voyage

There have been TONS of blog posts about the Redbox movie rental machine, where you can rent a dvd for 24 hours for $1. That alone is a pretty good deal but most of the buzz surrounding these machines are about all of the free codes available to use! I have not yet used the Redbox, but I feel like this is the week to try it.

This month (March) Redbox is running a huge promotion for free movie rentals. If you sign up at Redbox they will send out codes for free movie rentals on Mondays via texts or blogs, but this March if you visit redblog every Wednesday you will get a free code for Wednesdays also! That means up to 2 free movies a week!!~Thanks Sweeties Swags for this great find!

http://blog.redbox.com/ (go here to sign up for free codes via e-mail and to get into their syste)

Penny Pinching Diva has some great tips on how to use the box and has also included a code for today!! ~Thanks Penny Pinching Diva

ACTUALLY RENTING A MOVIE

"There are two ways to rent a movie: with or without a code. If you have a code, on the screen you will push “Rent a movie with a code.” If you don’t have a code, just push “Rent a movie.“
If you are renting a movie with a free rental code, you will be prompted to enter the promotional code. Once you do this you will be taken to the main screen.

The main screen holds all of the movies that are available at that machine. Scroll through the movies and select the movie that you want to see.

Once you select your movie, they will ask you if you want to enter your email address for a receipt of your movie rental and to receive promotional offers in your inbox. I went ahead and entered my email address, because once you return the movie they will send you an email confirmation of that as well.

After you enter your email address it will prompt you to scan your credit/debit card. It only takes a few seconds to approve it."

This week's code: RBXLUV4U

After checking out their websites I have made a list of great kids movies that I think my son will like. I put in my zipcode and now I have a list of fun movies and which redbox kiosk has the most choices!! My plan is to pick up my son from school and pick out a movie together! I hope that we might be able to make this a nice tradition...we shall see!
